Tonight, while it's been a slow night at work, I've been organizing my timesheet records for the entire year. The job I'm currently on will last through new years. So the grand tally for this year will be 1500 hours Regular Time, 1554 hours Over Time, totalling 3054 hours for the year of 2011. Of the 365 days in the year, I was away from home at drilling rigs for 250.

Well, I haven't been too active over the past month and a half. A here is a rundown of what's to blame. First off, I had previously been getting sick and tired of working all the time, so I put in time for vacation. I finished the job I was working at on October 30th though my vacation was to begin November 6th. So w00t, more time off. Much of my time was spent playing video games as always. Call of Duty Black Ops, to give it a good send off before MW3 made it's debut. Then there was a little bit of Battlefield 3 to be played. After a few days of MW3 it was time for a planned trip to the Texas Renaissance Festival for Highland Fling weekend. It was a good time. I dressed as a monk, I drank beer, spent money, and got a Henna tattoo of my Assassins Creed Fleur de Lis. :) And I met some pretty cool people as well. I instantly became friends with the guy who had a camper with a 10' projection screen tied between 2 trees, with a projector and an xbox 360 with MW3 on it. That was Epic! Overall it was a great weekend. Then after that, the rest of my vacation mostly consisted of playing video games and chillin with friends. Plus a few other events like a wedding, nights out at the movies, and bonfires. My vacation lasted a little longer, because the rig I was going to be headed to was having problems. I was finally headed back to work on the morning of Black Friday when I was involved in a wreck. I had left for work at 4am and was driving through Orange, Tx on Hwy 87 when an older lady pulled out directly in front of me from an adjacent road. This happened at 4:30am, I was driving 58 in a 65, the collision was her fault. She was 74 and didn't see me coming. Luckily we were both alright. Immediatly after the wreck, I checked myself and felt fine, just a bump on my knee and a sore chest. I got out to check on her as some other drivers called 911. Her car was catching on fire, but she was ok, so we got her out of it. I had a fire extenguisher to put out the fire. I always carried one in my jeep. The other guy put out the fire and I grabbed a chair from my jeep for the old lady to sit down. So that whole ordeal added another 2 weeks to my vacation, for recovery and getting new transportation. So now I've got an 06 Jeep Commander Limited. It is very nice. As soon as I got the paperwork done with it, I was sent back to work. Now I'm here just outside of Kenedy, Tx and it seems like this job may be a long one. Good thing though, my bank account is the lowest it's been in a while, after spending $13,500 cash on my new ride.

As I am constantly working at an oil rig, it surely cuts into my free time. I recently bought a Wacom intuos4 medium tablet and have been playing around with it using GIMP a little. Not as much as I'd like though. In my free time, I've been working on a wallpaper version of my Hylian One Winged Angel design, and it is coming along quite nicely.

A background...

Education: GED (thinking about going for an Associates Degree in IT)
Occupation: Mudlogger (basic oil field geology)
Hobbies: Gaming, xbox, art, poetry, technology, picking up new hobbies

I'm a bit of a quiet, lazy person. On my off days I usually stay locked away in my room drinking coffee or beer (depending on the hour), with the lights off, turtle beaches on, 6 feet away from a 32" LED tv, playing COD Black Ops on 360.

I doodled a good bit as a kid. Like when I was in church, I would sketch the pastors standing behind the pulpit. In school, I would doodle... When I was in 8th and 9th grade I would hang out at local tattoo shops a lot after school. I had a few older friends that were into tattoos and some were tattoo artists, plus there was a pool table there and was generally a nice hang out. Thats about the time my interest with tribal tattoo designs was born. I'd hang out there doodling a lot. I was also a bit of a laid back druggie then. About the time of my 10th grade year I got into trouble, the angry ungovernable child I was back then... I spent a few days in Juvenile, then a month at a Harbor House, then was put into a Boy's Village for 9 months. So pretty much my entire 10th grade year... Around that time was when I started getting into that popular Anime show Dragonball Z. I would draw fan art a little bit then. Once I finished my stay at the village I quit doing drugs and such, except for drinking on occasion. I was still a bit of a slacker. (I still am struggling with that one. lol) Then was the time of the Paragon. Which was an after school place for teens, and I was there all the time. The main room was large with black lights on the ceiling, and white walls. That became canvas for graffiti of sorts. I would draw my tribal patterns on the wall, outline them in sharpie, and then paint them in fluorescent paint. I loved that place. As with everything, things would come to an end. They people changed, they moved from that building to another one right down the road, but was never to be the same again. Around that time I had failed 11th grade the first time, due to attendance and grades, and the second time around I had the grades, but failed due to attendance. That's when I quit and got my GED. As it was, one of the staff members of the Paragon paid for my exam. That place and it's staff really did leave an impact on my life. After not even studying I passed the practice GED test, then scheduled the exam a month from then and passed it fine. From then till now, every year I think about going to college, and I keep on getting older. Moving along from job to job, never certain of what I want to do with my life, seemingly just building a list of what I don't want to do... Since I finished with the high shcool years, throughout my work history I'd hang out a lot at the local Waffle House, where I always had friends working. I'd sit there to all hours of the night, hanging out, drawing, and drinking coffee... I still hang out there sometimes when I am home, but not nearly like I used to, as constant work has consumed most aspects of my life since. The latest push I had in regards to art comes from a relative, who is a graphic artist, who often asks if I'm still drawing. So to accomodate the question, I decided to pick up art once more. Not that I ever lost touch with it or had no passion about it, just because it's been overshadowed by other things in recent years. The goal at that time was to draw something new every day, which was overly- ambitious since I work 12hrs a day, 2 weeks to 2 months straight in the oil field.

The goal now is to draw something new once a week. I'll be posting here a good bit more soon. I'll be scanning my portfolio of designs into the computer sometime soon as well. Then depending on how much free time I have, I may digitally retouch them using GIMP.

There will be a large surge in the tattoo designs section soon...
